Streszczenie: This article explores the media’s influence on perceptions of Brexit among Polish immigrants in the UK and particularly how this influence shaped their knowledge and emotional responses. Media campaigns after the 2016 referendum but before the enactment of Brexit in 2019 significantly impacted public sentiment and often amplified insecurity during this politically tumultuous period. We examine how media consumption influenced the specific emotional reactions of Polish immigrants to Brexit. Our quantitative cross-sectional study involved 620 Polish immigrants to the UK. The results indicate that new media have not only become an important source of information about the world in general but have also started to serve as many people’s primary reference for information about the world of politics. The media’s focus on sensationalism has frequently overshadowed the dissemination of accurate, practical information about Brexit and its ramifications.
