Streszczenie: In recent years in many countries around the world can observe the growing social importance of science and technology , reaching hand in hand with changes in the framework conditions for political decision-making . The ongoing discussion on the redefinition of the social role of science must be seen in the context of multi-annual public controversy concerning the technology that accompanied the scientific and technological change. Critical questions and comments relate not only to the environmental and social consequences of the development of new technologies , but also the legitimacy of established political decision-making processes. The growing importance of scientific expertise in the virtual and the daily practice of action and political decision-making reveals the inner uncertainty and ambiguity of scientific knowledge in relation to specific decisions, especially when assessing the risk and impact of technological innovation. It is therefore important social reference in evaluating new technologies.
