Ewelina Bańka

Ewelina Bańka is Assistant Professor in the Department of American Literature and Culture. Her teaching and research interests include postcolonial and border theories, as well as Indigenous literatures and cultures of the Americas. Awarded a grant by the Kosciuszko Foundation to conduct research at the Arizona State University, she collaborated with prof. Simon J. Ortiz on the project that focused on the concept of "Indian Country" in the contemporary Native American urban literature. 


She has written articles on contemporary Native American literature, border fiction and art, as well as co-edited two volumes: Americans and/in Their Diverse Sceneries  (KUL Publishing House 2013) and Borderlands: Art, Literature, Culture (KUL Publishing House 2016). In the academic year 2017-2018 she was a visiting professor in the department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Ottawa, Canada.
