Elżbieta Błotnicka-Mazur

Elżbieta Błotnicka-Mazur, PhD – art historian, assistant professor in the Department of Art History (former: Department of Modern and Contemporary Art History), Institute of Arts Studies, Faculty of Humanities at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Poland).

She graduated from the secondary school of fine arts (PLSP) in Nałęczów, she's also a graduate of the Uniwersytet Ludowy w Gardzienicach (Gardzienice Folk University) - diploma of folk, national and ballroom dance instructor. Then she obtained her Master of Arts degree in art history at the Catholic University of Lublin. PhD - in 2010, thesis about Bohdan Kelles-Krauze (1885-1945), the interwar Lublin architect and painter, supervised by prof. Lechosław Lameński.

She co-organises a periodic conference Paragone, devoted to sculpture and is a co-editor of the publishing series under the same title. She is the authoress of two monographs about Bohdan Kelles-Krauze. She published i.a. in "Biuletyn Historii Sztuki", "Miejsce. Studia nad sztuką i architekturą polską XX i XXI wieku", "Quart", "Roczniki Humanistyczne", "Art Inquiry" and "ARTis ON".

Her research interests include sculpture and architecture of the 20th century, distinctively on the sculpture in the public space and phenomena on the border between sculpture and other art disciplines in the 1960s Poland. She is currently pursuing a project focusing on the selected problems of the art of Adam Marczyński (1908-1985), connected with Kraków Group of artists.
