Streszczenie: Thomas Aquinas is gradually discovered by theologians of different confessions as a chance to build a common answer to the contemporary challenges. Christian thinkers notice new perspective for a rereading of various concepts of the Angelic Doctors and for employing them in the theological agenda. It is a matter of rather professional theology, but it seems to embrace, even though carefully, increasing fields of Church and pastoral life. Undoubtedly many theologians regard this interconfessional and ecumenical revival of some Thomistic ideas as a sign of hope in the struggle with secular and atheistic worldviews that increasingly become dominant in today's Western world. The article presents the historical divergence between the Catholic and Protestant Orthodoxy, mainly referring to the Thomistic positions in this process. Moreover, it discusses the shifts in approaches to the philosophy of the Angelic Doctors on both sides. It exemplifies these transformations by the short presentation of the Radical Orthodoxy movement and the special place, given to the Aquinas' theory of participation.
