Streszczenie: The paper looks into internal spelling variation of a 1534 English translation of the Psalter. The text of the Psalter – being printed in the early sixteenth century – displays a considerable amount of spelling variation typical of the early MnE period. Following Shute (2017), it is assumed that by observing internal spelling differences between parts of the text it is possible to draw certain conclusions concerning the number of compositors who prepared the text for printing. This quantitative analysis of spelling variation relies on k-means clustering and applies statistical analysis software R to analyse spelling variation data.
