Anna Magdalena Kosińska, PhD, habilitation – graduate of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. She received her MA diploma in the field of history of art in 2006 from the Faculty of Humanities for her thesis on Italian architecture of the interwar period, for which she won the Rector’s Award. In the academic year 2005/2006 she was granted a scholarship from the Minister of Education in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the field of science, whereas in the year 2005 she was a scholar of the Institute of Italian Culture in Rome.

In 2008 she obtained a Master of Law degree for her Master’s thesis on the subject of gender equality in the case-law of the Constitutional Tribunal, which she wrote in the Department of Constitutional Law.

In the years 2008-2012 she was a doctoral student in the Department of Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. She obtained her PhD degree on the basis of the dissertation entitled: Cultural Human Rights – Normative Regulations and their Implementation.

In 2019 she received the academic degree of habilitated doctor of legal sciences in the field of law on the basis of her monographic study entitled Cultural Rights of Third-Country Nationals in European Union Law (University Press, Catholic University of Lublin, 2018).

Since 2015 Professor Kosińska has been supervising the activities of the Research Centre on European Law and Migration Policy, established at the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration, John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. She is co-author of the publishing series “Law and Migration Policy”, published by the University Press and the Rule of Law Institute. In 2016 she received a Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for Outstanding Young Scholars.

Professor Kosińska has been lecturing on European Law in various university courses, also in the English language at the European Studies and European Union Law program.

Since 2006 she has also been actively participating in the activities of the Rule of Law Institute – a foundation established by Polish and American lawyers, where she is coordinator, among others, of the MIGRA-TEAM activities within the framework of the Migration Program.

Her professional interests focus principally on the system for the protection of human rights, migration law and law and cultural policies.
